Seems like it'd be a pretty cool lifestyle. (Yes, I know houseboats are trashy.)
Pros?
Cons?

My friend lived on a sailboat for a while after his divorce. He said mildew was a problem.

I'd live on a sailboat or yacht, not a houseboat.

I'd imagine sea sickness would subside fairly quickly.

I think it could be interesting, maybe even kinda cool
as long as you don't have too much stuff...

Mildew, but a dehumidifier would help.
Most marinas charge a "live aboard fee " a nominal amount to cover electricity, trash, maybe some basic cable depending on where you are.
If fiberglass bottom the there is maintance where you need to pull it out the water and do a bottom job....Par for the course on any fiberglass boat kept in the water.
Pros: no yard work and if you don't like your neighbor you can move easily

Wondering how much that slip fee would be. If it's similar to paying monthly rent for an apt, it'd be a pointless endeavor.

You can also take a leak off the side of your house and no one will notice

No dogs crapping on your lawn

Pull up marinas on Google. Many post their slip rate based off the length of your boat and break out what's covered in the fees.

Of course rates very depending on city and slip availability
