How does one go about finding a pipeliner job? I inspect offshore platforms and process units at refineries and don't get paid near what it sounds like a pipeliner makes.

Yes, I think Spectra Energy used to be the old Texas Eastern Transmission Company (TETCO)if I am not mistaken...I don't know whether they are a good company to work for or not, but they are a big, successful company.

The job requirements say you must live within 30 miles of the station.

I wonder if that is pre or post-hiring.

I would move, no problem.

apparently, your responsibilities would include maintenance of a compressor station (which are like huge engine-driven pumps for gas)...

they mean that you need to live there after being hired...you have to live nearby so that you can respond if something happens to one of the compressors after hours...
