One surgery I clearly remember waking up laying flat in a gurney bed. There were many others all around me. We were all lined up in rows with no curtains or anything. I couldn't feel my legs and I saw a nurse lady at a podium like a control station. I could hear nurses talking about stupid nonsensical stuff and I recall thinking...I am HERE, help me, but no one responded because I thought I said it outloud but it was a thought. I looked around again and I thought everyone was dead and maybe I was. I remember crying like I was five years old and I was scared.

Many have said patients often cry in recovery but have no memory of it. Sometimes affects of the anesthesia can do this.

Another surgery I was able to see from above and could see a room with a bed and at the door in a chair a heavy set black woman. I woke up and the placement of the room I saw from above was exact accept this time I was in the bed. I looked over and saw a heavy set black woman in the same spot I saw from above. She was watching me waiting for me to wake up.

Yep. Nurses made me go pee and I remember being too drugged to care my bare arse was hanging out the gown.

I know....I recall feeling hopeless, crying and no one cared.

I also had a nurse tell me that after he pulled the tube out of me I was hilarious and he told me shite I said. I know after he told me what I said I did because it all applied to me-but I have no memory.

The surgeries in the OP the first I was incubated the second I wasn't. I have no memory of them telling me breath out breath out pulling the tube out but I do of this time I was funny. (And I only remembered it after he told me like it was cued in my brain)

Not really of the recovery room. But, when i had surgery to repair a broken nose, i actually woke up during the surgery. I remember the doctor asking for a chisel. And I was like hey wait ! what do you need a chisel for? he said you're going to have to stop talking. i said but, a chisel? then they turned up the juice and i woke up hours later.

Yeah, after knee reconstruction I remember waking up in a recovery room with other people in there as well, all laid out on the hospital beds. Once one of the nurses realized I was awake she came over to check my vitals, and I remember asking what time it was.

I don't remember what time it was though.

The drugs they use to knock you out are improved nowadays. One of them leaves you zero memory. So I was shocked I had any memory.

I remember waking up and immediately asking a series of questions to the point that it had probably become annoying for the nurses. But they were gracious enough to answer them as fast as I was rattling them off.

I woke up for eye surgery I remembered everything he said. He told the people in the OR that I was a special girl. I told him afterwards and he was shocked.

I also vaguely recall using my right hand to remove a big arse mask off my face. I remember the oxygen smell was SO STRONG it freaked me out. When I woke they had me cut open hip to hip but I don't remember pain.

I heard a voice ask if I was awake and said yes. I was asked if I knew where I was and I said the planet Cirrus.

Voice said he's ok, take him to his room.

What's weird is waking up after what felt like 10 minutes of sleep, then you find out 2 hours had past...

I had a cyst and nerve removed from my wrist. I was awake for the entire thing.

Woke up as they started and stayed up through the whole thing. Talked to the nurses the whole time.

I sure as hell don't remember it but I had a colonoscopy Tuesday; wife said in recovery I was singing 70's hits and farting loud enough to shake the walls.

I know I flirt terribly with the nurses and female doctors when they put me under.

Apparently when I was married, they put me under for a procedure, and my wife was right there, and I was steadily saying naughty things to the pretty female doctor
