She needs to WALK. My dad had an aneurysm behind one of his eyes at age 64 and stopped being active. He already had eye issues so once he'd lost most of his sight he just sat in a chair. Now, at 80 he's in a nursing home and it's a sad sight to see. He was also a lifelong smoker which certainly didn't help.
If you get her to do anything at all get her to walk a couple of miles a day. Once their legs go they're done.

Semi-retired. Retired about three years ago, hung around the house for a couple of months....nah, work part-time now, about 80 hours a month (which I use to do in a week and some change). Lower stress, nice money and hopefully using experiences to help others.
Have also picked up racquetball and keep limber/tone by working with trainer, real basic, low impact kind of stuff

Yup, my In Laws go to the gym 3 times a week. I don't think they work out very hard but at least they do something. My MIL retired as a manager from Wal-Mart, she was use to being on her feet and walking a lot. When she retired she wasn't doing that anymore so my FIL made her go to the gym with him. They both get around really good for being in their early 70s.

My wife completed the master gardening program offered by the county extension service. If your mom likes working outdoors with flowers and such check it out.
Together we took beekeeping classes and have three hives. Got enough honey for family, friends and neighbors. Beekeeping clubs are probably in your area and are probably starting classes this month.
That's all I got.

She is probably just baked. I know I'll be toking it up when I retire.

I retired Jan 1st last year. I am not bored. Deer hunted the last 5 days. Was duck hunting the 3 days before. Slept in today(I call it taking the day off). Will go to the store later to buy some accessories for my bay boat. Fishing starts on Feb. 1St.
