Dude, calm the frick down or jump off a bridge. I said in my statement I am tired as hell, I didn't read other posts before commenting. It being wedged in there, yes it's gonna be a PITA then, like you said.

Well, I take door panels off of vehicles for a living, technically I'm not a mechanic, so you are correct. Been awhile since I've done a BMW, and I've never fooled with one where I couldn't open door.

Eta: my brain didn't process him not being able to open door and take apart door panel while door is stuck shut. Guess I read OP to fast the first time.

I replaced a door glass for an Avalanche a few months back. When I took door panel off the rod fell loose. Regulator was broken also, had been broken prior to someone busting out glass. Vehicle not well taken care of. I couldn't open from outside until I connected rod, which was a pain in the arse. Mostly b/c it was hard to see and had to shine light in there, and pretty tight to get hand in.

I could not figure out why it wouldn't open it with either handle when I could lock and unlock it, all cables were pulling, and I even engaged the latch manually. After hours of messing around with it, I went with the old tried and true method and just beat something. I hit the outside door handle and lock hard a few times and it opened

Thanks for all of the advice everyone. I couldn't see anything wrong so I put it back together and without changing anything. It feels harder to pull the handle from the outside than it should, but it works. I wish that I knew what it was so I don't have to go through this again.
