Another WW2 story...

So last night I posted a story from Bill Mauldin's book "Up Front" about how to try and understand what a infantryman on the front went through. This passage is also from the same book. You don't hear many stories of the more terrible things we did over there but this book gives some great details. So another one for all you WW2 nerds like me out there...
"I know of another guy, (a former racketeers bodyguard) who once found two Germans sleeping together to keep warm. He remembered an old Ghoum trick, and slit the throat of one, leaving the other alive so he would wake up and see his bunkmate the next morning. Most of the guys thought it was a good stunt, and it kept the Germans in his sector in a state of uproar and terror for several days."
"The army couldn't get along without soldiers like that. They provide wonderful stories, the inspire their comrades to greater feats of arms, and they do a lot to make Nazi's fear the American Army.""

No struggle after throat slice?
Never seen one so I can't say, but I'd imagine a couple seconds of gasping and maybe rolling/fumbling around before passing out and dying.
