Those are rookie numbers...38,702,000 were killed by the Chinese communists after the war.

It works both ways. Remember the Mongol invasions? I've heard of Chinese families disowning someone who married a Japanese. Same way with some Japanese. The hate is strong.

I still wonder what happens with China if Dewey was in office 1948-56. I know Dulles and Marshall had a lot of power over Truman and they were hardliners. Imagine a world where China-US relations were a mix of how US-Japan and US-Vietnam have played out.

The Chinese deaths reminds me of the ending for Pearl Harbor when the inference is a lighter from a GI was used as proof/a reason to murder the whole village. Japan viewed them as inferior Asians long before PH and punished them even more for aligning with the US after we got out shite together in late 1942.

Yeah. We knew they would retaliate but not to that degree.

Makes the decision to drop the bomb much easier.
