Supposedly Scripps wants to get away from the "news anchor" format where you have two people making $100k reading the same national stories they air across the country from a teleprompter
Instead they'll have a dozen 'reporters' who go around the region and report live on various stories. So the evening news would be weather + a bunch of cobbles together remote feeds.
The anchors who left were offered positions as reported for less pay, and they declined.
I'm sure the end game will be weather + sports + the rest filled with busty Dallas anchors reading the ABC/Scripps approved political messages
