You are correct. This just happened to a friend of mine’s son. They have State Farm. He wasn’t listed, got in a wreck, was fully covered, and now has to be on the policy. They did the same thing with their older daughter but she has been added since she is going off to college.

Wow. Well , this must be a one off thing that only State Farm was doing for some reason. Had I known that I'd a switched to them and not worry about the high premiums & my kids causing wrecks!

Technically, as long as you don't mind being dropped at renewal and paying $1000/mo to USAgencies after no regular carrier will write you

Most companies started doing that because the underwriters knew agents and/or policy holders were often lying about which car the teenage kid was driving.
