Don't get me wrong, it's a terrible thing that happened, but why do people get so worked up when something happens to a celebrity? Its crazy, people go all nuts when anything happens to a celebrity, even though the celebrity doesn't have a clue the people even exists, much less care. I saw a post on FB where a girl was going all bat-shite crazy about someone who doesn't know/care if she was alive or not... Makes absolutely no sense.

Because people in our culture have been conditioned from birth to worship at the ridiculous cult of celebrity. Everyone else pays attention to it so they feel like they have to as well. Follow the herd mentality.
