I found a great piece of property to build on but this construction company out of Carencro bought to sell it and of course they have to be used as the builder. Anyone familiar with this company? They have a web site with a few meh houses but I can't find any reviews

I would be wary of any situation where obvious conflicts of interest exist. They sold you the property and you have to use them to build? So great deal on the land to get you to bite, then butt rape you on construction costs after? Like a cheap HP printer with $70 ink cartridges after.

Oh no! Not a great deal on the land. It's the same price as the other pieces. The price per sq ft is actually very competitive with the big boys in the area like Manuel and Schumaker. My hands are tied at this point because the area is apparently really nice. It's one acre which I'm a little uneasy about but the wife loves the area.

Oh no, the contractor is based there. The area is north of Crowley out in the country. It was all fields and someone picked up all of the rd front, did the necessary dirt work, and is selling 1 acre lots. Several really nice homes have already been built. It's a little crowded for me but the wife really likes because it's a bunch of couples our age with young kids. I'm warming up to the idea of such a small yard because it'll mean less yard work which turns into more hunting/fishing.
