AC question - Digital thermostat acting weird, possible transformer problem?

The thermostat has been acting up. Started acting funny, like it wanted me to reset the weekday temps for certain times etc... then out of nowhere said power outage.
I replaced the batteries, started working fine then quit and said power outage again. This went over for most of the day. Run for a while, work OK, then quit and say power outage. Then come back on etc...repeat.
Is it possible that the transformer is overheating and stopping to send 24-volt power to the thermostat?

notsureifserious...I didn't replace them but I did take them back out and put them back in and it's been working fine longer than it has been.
Crossing fingers.

Mine did this. If it happens again cycle the batteries once more.

if you still have problems, go check the overflow pan and see if its full. if it is and you have a float switch on it, it will cut power to your whole system, and if the water drains a bit, it will come back on, then fill up and cut off once it fills again.

Holy shite. Thank you.
I have a vertical unit with a float for a drain switch. I pulled it out to see if that's the problem.
When you said that it reminded that I had already pulled the plug to see if that was it. I was thinking, shite it's been working ever since I pulled that out. I completely forgot I pulled that.
I looked and it's dripping water out of the A-Frame coil pan. Luckily just a little.
Thanks man, that could have been a mess.
So the hundreds of hours I have spent on this site has finally paid off.
