Amber. Their strawator was solid.

Abita can make a good beer but the problem is all their mass distributed beers suck fricking arse.

Amber
Jockamo
Purple haze
Andy gator

All Pathetic beers but they are everywhere in the U.S.

Solid abita beers:
Bourbon st. Stout
Oyster stout
Wraught Iron ipa
Imperator
Macchiato (haven't tasted this one but heard its good from people's opinion I respect)
Grapefruit ipa

So to conclude its not like Abita cant make a good beer. The problem is 90% of what they distribute sucks arse.

I recently saw wrought iron in Florida so was happy to see that. They need to just destroy the Jockamo. Literally one of the worst ipa I've had in my life.

Jockamo might be the worst thing I've ever drank. Interesting that it's the Mardi Grad brew.. Because it tastes like New Orleans post-parade street gutter water.

Amber isn't bad.

I like Jockamo.

Not a big fan of IPA in general.

Haven't tried Grapefruit IPA yet but I may.

And yes, they still make Wheat. Like that one too.

Amber isn't awful for what it is. But Amber beers in general are pretty bland in taste.

I don't like IPA in general so I've never had it. I like their Amber a lot. They have a Mardi Gras bock that I get when it's in season

Zealot pretty much nailed it.
For far too long Abita has been run by bean counters interested in profits. They have rarely done much interesting. Seems they are trying to get a little better lately.

I think it's the best. I like dark beer though. Broadway Brewhouse buy 1 get one free has never been the same.

Abita has sucked arse since they claim to own the phrase "pub crawl" and have stopped charity fund raisers who dared to use the phrase in their event literature.

frick Abita.

I fricking love Jockamo and also the new Wrought Iron IPA (presently drinking). Hard to say which I like more. I also like Imperator but it seems hard to find.

I appreciate a lot of the others but am on an IPA kick.

It's not even on the same radar as the dark beers I posted earlier in this thread.

Well up here we don't have the variety as down there as far as selection. Turbo is the darkest.

Jockamo is an awful IPA, but the new Wrought Iron IPA is pretty decent.

Abita is way behind the curve on IPAs though.

Their new oatmeal stout, Naughty Quaker, was pretty dang good. I haven't seen it in bottles though, just on tap.
