Aquatics would be great for both rehab and future work outs
I really don't see you on the street delivering mail 10 days post, possible yes, some athletes go back in less time, but they are starting with a fully conditioned body with excellent healing potential and therapy 3 times a day, not a week. Going back light duty in 10 days, sure

That isn't a meniscus repair. You are out much longer if a true repair.
Sounds like you are getting a meniscusectomy where they cut out the piece that is torn. Much faster rehab for that

Completely depends on if you are getting a partial meniscectomy or a repair. Reha is completely different for them

tiger91, glad to hear that you've had good outcomes after all of that
To the OP, I have also seen what has already been mentioned in this thread: Ortho wants rest for the first 2-3 days, then gradually increase your walking, home exercises, icing it several times daily, and the person returns to work without needing formal PT.
If your job requires a lot of standing and walking, you will need more rest breaks for several weeks post op, as your tolerance for weight bearing increases.
Monitor this, because it is possible to do too much too soon, and that can delay recovery.

G Vice, ran/walked 7 yesterday ... on the road back! Zydeco Half may be ugly but it's getting done. :)

Can anyone tell me how common it is for meniscus REPAIRS to NOT work? This girl is a runner, a friend of mine, and has a lateral as well as a medial tear on the same knee. The lateral tear is in the "pinkish" area but wondering about it not holding up or actually healing ... she doesn't want a second surgery!
Thoughts anyone? Seeing Penton in Lafayette.
