At 1:54pm today, both 911 and the 8th District station began receiving phone calls concerning an emergency situation at City Hall, on the second floor, within the City Hall Councilmembers office area. First referred to as a signal 21, miscellaneous incident, unknown trouble, then a 103 (disturbance), then an aggravated battery, the priority code 2 call for service held in the backlog with NO UNITS AVAILABLE TO RESPOND. Ultimately, one 8th Dist car, unit 832, was able to respond to the emergency situation, but had to do so without any backup. Thankfully, u832 has since gotten the situation under control and we have not heard a request for EMS. Situation MAY involve "a constituent" getting "out of line", possibly striking someone with a lamp. ProjectNOLA is now entering the incident into its NOPD Error Log, as the code 2 priority call held in the backlog with no units available to respond, which then involved a single car being dispatched to a volatile situation without backup.
