I know the pit bull Nazi's will inform us how bad of a dog they are regardless though.

So the dog didn't like other dogs in its territory. That isn't surprising. People are so dumb.

This is very true. Most people suck at training dogs and kids.

You're not serious, are you? Surely you realize dogs' traits (both physical and mental/temperamental) can be bred by humans in a much shorter time than 10,000 years, right?

After reading over the 2015 deaths from pit bulls I saw many were spayed/neutered.. Some even turning on owners of several years.

These dogs are just so lethal and just one bad day can be fatal for someone.

But of course their owners will defend them. I understand that.. I just recognize it is truly not worth the risk.

Also, no offense to those who do have them.. but seems like most people who own these dogs are really trashy.. Especially white female trash.. ha!

They are so lethal that you can even shoot them and it doesn't even phase them during an attack.

Yeah, because instincts of animals should just be ignored. Why don't you adopt a tiger or raise a gator. I'm sure if you raise it right you won't have any issues with them wanting to attack or eat you or small children.

Well, Scoops story definitely makes an impression. I am done defending them. That post may haunt me awhile.

So let me guess, you want to portray some badass thug image or something? Then you can look real cool with the guys drinking on the patio and petting your ugly arse dog. But wait, thug boy turns into sanctimonious dog trainer when he tells you how great his dog is because he trained it right.

ETA: sounds a lot like Scoop's story waiting to happen

Two questions.

1.) Do you have any historical knowledge of the breed?

The breed is pre-Roman and in antiquity to now, has been bred to be aggressive and bad arse. The breed was designed to be violent. From war dogs, to bull baiting (that's where the name comes from) to straight up dog fighting, it is all the breed has ever been about since it was derived.

2.) Do you understand genetics?

Pits that wouldn't fight in whatever capacity they were expected to over at least 1000 years were killed and not bred because they served no purpose. Only those genetically inclined to fight and be aggressive were bred. That means that any pit walking around today has aggression bred into him via artificial natural selection over 1000+ years.

Sleep tight.

I understand how some may want to rescue strays, but it is childish and trashy to actively buy one. They were originally bred to work with bulls and then eventually for bloodsport. It's in their DNA to be aggressive as much it's in a Bassett Hound's DNA to be lazy and apathetic or a Border Collie's makeup to be intelligent and herd animals. It's ridiculous to pretend that training or not training is relevant. These are animals, not robots, and humans can't be expected to be 100% responsible in training them. There are a multitude of breeds out there that can serve as guard dogs and be great pets, but it seems like people just actively seek pit bulls out to defy mainstream, civilized society.

An innocent five year old with his whole life ahead of him is now dead for no reason at all.

Not even remotely close. I do appreciate the attempt, though, Mr. Holmes.

Pit bulls are a bad breed and when great majority of drug dealers have them ..... tells you all you need to know.

Probably because alligators and tigers haven't been domesticated.

Is that too hard to understand?

I've been breeding German Shepherds and Rottweilers my entire life. I probably understand better than most.

Don't worry. I sleep very well with my dogs guarding the house and land.

This. I completely trust my 7 month old with my girls. It's all on how you raise, exercise and socialize them.

Currently outside with my girls playing.
