Very cool. Louisiana gets a shite ton of rain. It didn’t feel like we got that much last year.

that is when radars are switched into 'clear air mode', it's a lower power mode, but can also detect smaller stuff nearer the radar. If no precip/storms are in the forecast they will conserve power and switch to these...often can see bats and insects etc when it's tuned to this mode.
