GEOG majors from Chapel Hill average salaries over 10 years from graduation:

1985; $33,000
1986; $3,600,000
1987; $33,500

Anyone know the reason? Pretty interesting.
Lame to some.
Cool to others.

This is used in statistics classes to to explain why you use median vs mean.

Eta:
Usm eagles answers correct in less than one minute.

It did take me a little while to get from, "who from UNC ever signed a big contract?" to "duh."

Was there a reason Jordan majored in geography.

The GIS industry didn’t take off until the 90s.

Maps are cool. If my profession was really basketball, I'd study geography too.

Can’t answer that specifically for him.

ArcView and Arcgis weren’t around.

However I can say that there is minimal prereq’s for

English
Spanish
Math

Maps are cool. I just figured that Jordan must have had a deliberate reason for choosing geography over “undeclared” or “hyper-parabolic home economics.”
