Sickening how cops wouldn't enter that building for over 30 minutes.

Same here. Right after it happened the New York Times did a big article comparing my high school to Columbine.

High school in the late 90's sounds extremely fricked up.

You know, I am reading some of these stories, and I was going to say that my experience was remarkably different, and I started high school the year after Columbine.

I was a little dude and a bit of a nerd my first couple of years but was generally treated well by all. In fact, I can't recall any specific instance of real bullying I had - lots of teasing, sure, but the vast majority was in good fun. It was a huge, private, all boys school that was mostly upper middle class. It might have helped that the bigger jocks in our class were mostly nice guys.

Well, duh. Public school is completely different. They don't discipline anyone hardly, much less kick anyone out, and half of the kids only come to school because they legally have to. We started with 1,100 in my class and only 600 were left by the end. The balance had dropped out once they were able to.

Perhaps, but all girls private schools can be some of the worst places for bullying and cruelty you will ever see.

Emotional, sure. But I'm talking about people getting stabbed in the stairwell. Or watching someone get held down and have their earrings ripped out. Bloody fights between every bell.
