Secondary Math/Science Education is such a waste of potential for people. Math education majors should be majoring in engineering. If they want to hedge their bets and have a teaching credential to fall back on if they can't get a job, there should be an option for them to get a quicky credential.

But, Education Departments and their allies want people to think there is something important you're missing out on if you don't have an education diploma. Really complicated stuff putting together a 20 question exam that's already dumbed-down.

(I do think, even with the quicky credential I mentioned earlier, you still need some formal training on special education students so you don't screw up an area of extreme legal liability, and maybe you need a semester of internship under a teacher to get experience...but other than that, the rest of standard College of Education curriculum is useless.)

Relativity is actually E2 = m2c4 + p2c2 (the more famous version is when an object is at rest so p = 0).

WTF? That’s absolutely terrible.

Physics is the subject that uses the language of math…Engineers use shitty approximations, and they never GAF about boundary conditions. Terrible take is terrible.

E to the I pi minus 1 equals zero is the greatest equation ever…and that dumb frick who made the list should stick to engineering.

I can honestly say that besides Pythagoras’ Theorem I have rarely (if ever) used any of those in real life.
No, but they made possible things like calendars, combustion engines, flight, electronics, etc.

Engineering, physics, computer science, whatever...if you're already willing to take Differential Equations, just go ahead and get the a degree that pays more than $37,000 right out of college and doesn't top out at just $60,000 after working it for 25 years.

Do math ed majors have to take diff eq?

Actuarial science kills anything engineering…materials, though you should be a condensed matter physicist or a physical chemist, is the best they have.

DSP is pretty smart, I’ll give EEs that.

Maxwell covers that, I’d think. I love pv equals nrt.

You forgot one.

When the admins decide to put up the Christmas lights and LSU lays a donkey turd to an unranked opponent on the same day.

Perhaps, but the other two courses that I didn't feel like linking were Abstract Algebra (which doesn't seem like a picnic, judging by the online syllabus) and Complex Analysis, which is Diff. Eq. adjacent.

Also, that's just Ole Miss. Alabama requires it.

One improvement equation not on the list is:

The angle of the dangle is proportional to the heat of the meat.
