He's 15 now, but will be 16 when I buy. I have no real concerns about him driving something "too fast." Wife worries, but I'll monitor him via GPS to ease her concerns.

Troll. If not you are probably the dumbest parent alive. Congrats on your dead kid. Why does a kid need a fast car if he's trustworthy? Wouldn't he ask for a slow safe vehicle if that was the case?

Not seeing any logic behind this.

And even if this is nothing but a troll, what an incredibly dickish thing to say.

I had a 85 vette in high school 10 years ago. Don't think I ever went more than 75 in it.

If the kid is SO responsible, how is buying an expensive, fast car a responsible decision for a kid? Actually, it's very irresponsible for the adult to think a kid needs a fast car BUT is not going to go fast. This is the opposite of teaching the kid responsibility.

I say that because buying a KID a fast car is an absolute way to raise his chance of dying in said car. And spare us all the bullshite backtalk.....a KID owning a fast car will go fast! I don't care if he sleeps at an orphanage donating his time, kids will be kids...and if a mistake happens, the faster the car is traveling the worse it will be.

Prayers sent to OP. It sounds as though proving he has cash is more important than teaching responsibility.

This is all IMO. DOnt really care if you think diff

What does that have to do with the kid being responsible? There's no connection there.

Kids drive fast in 100 hp Civics. Acceleration isn't really the killer you make it out to be. Especially with all the new traction control and other safety systems. My 2014 Mustang GT is incredibly manageable to drive. You'd never know it was powerful unless you get on it, and even then it's docile compared to older cars with half the horsepower.

Regardless of all that, your comment was completely stupid and unnecessary. You're entitled to your opinion, but you don't have to be an a-hole about it. Or maybe you do.
