I am optimistic, but dang he got an arm and the team plays hard for him. I think SP had been working his Guru magic with him something fierce. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery and an organization that will get behind you. If this works out, man SP gonna go down as having 2 of the biggest steals ever, according to market value. I hope it stays course, today looked good

I think he kept Winston under wraps last year on purpose

The difference is that maturity and decision making. Sean doesn’t need nor ask him to light the world on fire. Just execute at a high level and limit mistakes. 138 with 5 TDs speaks to that

It makes you wonder a little if that looked worse because he felt like he had to carry the offense.

This is the thing that has really shown itself over the last few years with Brees declining and getting hurt a few times plus the flux of WRs and Rbs. The man seems to understand you tailor your play calling based on personnel. All the personnel, not one player, not just the QB.

Also speaks to Payton taking what he can get when he can get it.

This all goes to show that excellent OLine, above average defense, protecting the ball and great coaching will win more often than not

Win the trenches and your team has a chance. Something this team has continued to be solid at in recent years is control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Everything else can work itself out from there especially with high level coaching.

Old school football philosophy was always that-line up and see if our fat guys can beat your fat guys. Just the fat guys are getting less fat as things go on it seems.
