New Orleans trades with Cincinnati

Cincinnati receives the 15th, which I think they go running back. Move up to insure they get Giovani Bernard.

New Orleans trades down for Cincinnati's pick which will be in the 22 to 26 range I'd guess, select Matt Elam. Also receive Cincinnati's 2nd round pick that they got from Oakland which is the 5th pick in the second, and select either Xavier Rhodes, Margus Hunt, Kewan Short, Alex Okafor, David Amerson or Oday Aboushi.

Matt Elam is just a playmaker. Can cover, has good ball skills, fast, can play the run and lay the wood. Also like the swagger he brings to the D. Also trading back to get him gives us a 2nd rounder again and there is still alot of great talent out there in the 2nd round.

Just what I would personally like to see. Thoughts?

New Orleans Saints packages Garrett Hartley, Thomas Morestead, Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas, Nick Toon, and Lance Moore with the 15th pick of the NFL draft to move up to #3 to draft Geno Smith and then trades Geno Smith to KC for their next 4 1st and 2nd round picks

The league would find something wrong with the verbage and deny it.

I like the idea of trading down.

IDK about Matt Elam necessarily. Not against, just didn't watch enough Florida to really say one way or the other

DT, DE, OLB in any order then CB and possibly FS are all higher on the priority list than upgrading SS.

My army buddy is a huge Florida fan so I have seen a couple gator games and the kid is a flat out playmaker. Even against LSU the kid was all over the field. Even if not Elam I still believe you trade back if possible.

i wouldn't really say that Elam is a position of need, therefore wouldn't have the greatest impact, but if we could trade Harper, plus pick up a 2nd round pick i would be happy with that move. I like the way Elam plays ball.

I just want a true pass rushing end. I've wanted that for 5-6 years now.

I think with Bunkley and Hicks we are okay at DT

We have the best safety tandem in the league IMO....

Just think that with Harper's salary we might let him go. Or try and trade him but don't think you would get much maybe a 6th round pick. Which I would do to get Elam. He would bring some toughness and more talent and playmaking ability to our D. Like I said even if not Elam I like to trade back to pick up a 2nd. Maybe hope Eric Fisher falls or draft Sam Montgomery (non homer)

Whomever we draft, Steve Smith will surely kick his arse next year.

Steve Smith

I don't typically root for players to get hurt, but I'm hoping he breaks something everytime he plays. Just such a little thugh POS.

Everytime I watch him he's trying to start shite. When we played them the first time he started shite with Corey White just for trying to shed a block. Sorry Steve...I won't do my job when you're blocking me. Please throw me on the ground.

I hate that a-hole

Steve Smith just hates us cause of our teams' history together with this and that that's happened (some of it was our fault too). He keeps carrying it with him, i don't mind it too much. He's passionate and physical. Big woopy, its football.

I really like Elam as well. Is he 1st/2nd round material though?

i wouldn't say top 15, but late first to the middle of the second, probably

note, i am not a draft guru. If you want a professional opinion you should tweet Mel Kiper.

Not a guru either just my opinion on what I would like to see or something like it. But yeah Elam to me is one if the better safeties. Maybe the best playmaking safety tho. Ie hard hits interceptions and big play
