Michael Thomas is the best receiver in New Orleans Saints history. Potential HOFer.

Saints post 2011 and pre-Michael Thomas had no attitude, no swag, and weren’t winning. The culture was that of a stat padding offense and soft defense.

Michael Thomas set the standard and helped bring the swag back. We need his attitude and his locker room in presence.

PAY THE MAN. NOW.

Anyone saying otherwise is clueless. Imbeciles.

Your not very good at negotiations brah.

1. MT will get a new contract from the Saints.
2. Players make teams sweat and teams make players sweat. Its how this works.
3. If MT wants to be the first recv to get 30 mil a year do you just pay it? Of course not. The Saints have offered him a contract to be the highest paid recv in the league but MT wants 20 mil per.
4. Every dollar counts in the NFL with a hard cap so any amount money saved from one player goes to another down the line.
5. Have no doubt they are trying to meet in the middle. Will MT come to them a little as he gets ancy to get out and practice or will the Saints fold as the days go by?
We will see but a deal will get done whether 20 or 18 or something laced with nice incentives( what I think happens) but negotiations are not and have never been fan friendly. Remember the Brees contract threads?

I get all of your points, but I so no reason to not sign him if you are willing to offer him $19 mil and he is wanting $20 mil.

Bountygate had a little bit to do with that.

They offered him (according to reports) 19... so it's not like they are ocean's apart. MT wanting 30 and MT wanting 20 are not similar situations. The first would be outrageous, the second is, arguably, a reasonable ask

OK but let's not go crazy over what will amount to 4 million dollars over 4 years. And in reality, the deal might be structured in such a way that he might not even see some of that 4 million for a long time. It's unlikely to hurt the team significantly more than the 19 mill/year deal would.

He must prefer big round numbers over being the highest paid

Anybody panicking about this two days into training camp is being over dramatic. Jesus, chill out and let it play out.
