From a 'fan' standpoint, defeating the worst team in the NFL by 1 point in a game being played for drafting position is the worst possible scenario. Seriously, winning proved what? We are not the worst team in football?

This is irrational and simple minded.

Even if losing gives us a .0000001% chance of getting a better pick or actually drafting well, it's still the better option than winning, that literally benefits us nothing.

I'm not questioning anyone's "fanhood" who wanted a loss today... shite, I'd have been okay with a loss myself. It's the complaing about a win that is sad. The Saints had nothing to play for and went on the road against a team that always plays us tough and got the win. Can't fault the players and coaches for actually succeeding at their job today. In fact, I'm happy for them and the win.

It's not irrational at all. I find the difference in our draft positions to be marginal; therefore, I'd rather end the season with a win. You can disagree with the marginality of the difference in position, but there is nothing irrational or simple minded about it.

No one should disagree with this.

And it's still marginally worse. Not enough to piss and moan about.

You're out of your mind. Most people on this board wanted CJ Mosley first if there was any chance we could get him. Most people knew we couldn't and started looking WR/CB. Did you want Mosley?

I did. I also loved Cooks, J Matthews, Beckham too so I wasn't upset we got Cooks, but I knew rthis team needed Mosley and if you're the super fan, you knew this too.

Mosley went #17. Saints picked Cooks at #20. Yes, the Saints were originally at #27, so they moved up. But if the Saints were at #22 (5 spots higher), you don't think they could have moved up to get Mosley?

Anthony Barr went #9 in 2014. How can you guys not see a top 8 pick vs a top 14 isn't huge?

But we are talking from a "Fan" standpoint- the win helped nothing but the overall record of a non-playoff team.

Hindsight is fun. How about you list players that teams that picked before us missed on and we benefited by picking later. Or do you think that's never happened?

And if it has never happened, you've proven my point that it doesn't matter where we draft.

This is his shtick on every board. He takes the contrarian
point of view and argues for pages and pages. Don't bother.

If it's contrarian, why am I not the only person to share that view? Is your shtick being a dumbass?

You play to win the Super Bowl. This isn't JV. A top 10 pick would have been huge.

I am going to laugh when those elite 6 or 7 players drop to 9 or 10 and we are sitting at 13 or 14... Yeah big win today.

This is exactly what I am asking the "true super fans". I understand a player wanting to win. I do think they should have had every backup player in the game to see what they can do and let them try to win. That win would have been way more fun and exciting.

But how does a 1 point win in a meaningless game/season benefit the team at all?

And I'll laugh when our picks outperform the teams in front of us.

So if we start all the second stringers and win, then what. Still a shits excuse on how to tank I haven't gotten a straight forward answer yet. I never said the higher pick wouldn't be better situation so stop repeating that.

Then we could see what those players could do and that win would have had meaning. Instead, the team risked our starters out there to get a meaningless win and let's be honest, Drew Brees to get his petty stats.

As far as what could have happened, did you watch the game? TB threw the ball 3 times the whole 2nd half. It's not that difficult. TB out tanked NO

Since you never argued about a better pick, I take that to mean you would rather pick #7 then #13, correct? Remember, that's every round. How people can't see that is insane.

People see it just fine. You just seem incapable of understand that some of us don't think that gap is a big enough deal to piss and moan over.
