re: Who and what round would you want to take as corner? If we should take one

I could get on board with that. Since the Saints were trying to get Asomugha even after getting Lewis, it makes you wonder if they'll look at that position on draft day.
I wouldn't mind the badger in the later rounds (if he is even still there). He can make some things happen.

A lot of mocks I've seen have him going in the third or fourth. Doubt he makes it to the 5th round.

No, but an addict is an addict. He's openly admitted his addiction. Yes, you have fans that are sore over his poor decisions and flaws. But anyone who is completely oblivious to the risk of drafting him is kidding himself. If he stayed in college, didn't have the record, and entered the draft next year, I would guarantee he'd be in the top 10 overall. I view it as the possibility of getting 1st round quality with a 3rd round pick. He has the raw skills to be one of the best at his position. Throw all the technicalities of him being "too small" and "using poor technique" and "he got pushed around in the N.C. game", blahblablah right out the window.

Yeah. New Orleans is the only city that has weed.
Like a few people have already said, "he just needs to grow up".

he's a risk, but he's an equal risk no matter where he goes. I just laugh so hard at the melodramatic "he needs to get out of here" comments regurgitated by 90% of the posters on here.

A person can be addicted to anything that makes them feel differently.
Now that is out of the way, that was a retarded question. To add some "substance" to all of this, look at my post count! (420)

all of this. BTW he only gave up 2 completions in the BCS title game in which he had great coverage (he had his head turned around) and was a good tackler

yeah, pretty much. It will get interesting how he reacts once he starts having some success in the NFL. That can actually be a more vulnerable time for someone like him.
I could tell you a thousand stories on the matter when it comes to booze by the way...
but this isn't the OT.
the main thing that would concern me though is how short he is. You can't deny his play making ability but when matched up on the bigger WR's I think its just as reasonable to have concerns with him struggling.

The rumors at LSU aren't how much he likes weed, but how bad of an influence his friends in New Orleans are. I think that's why most LSU fans think he should stay out of NOLA.
That being said, his friends can follow him where ever he goes too. AND he has a very stable family life in NOLA that he may not have other places.
Not saying one side is right or wrong, I'm just pointing out why people say he needs to get away from NOLA.

TM7 just needs to be a man, otherwise he's fricked wherever he goes
I don't disagree with any of that.
But have you read anything he's said the past year and a half??
He said himself he needs to get away from certain influences in NOLA. He's pretty much admitted he wasn't strong enough to cut those people out of his life and distance is what he needs.
Of course you can get weed anywhere, but it's not even about the weed. Who gives a shite about weed, other than the NFL of course. I never even mentioned weed in my post. I said they don't understand "the difficulties" he'd have in NOLA.
TM himself has said it was a lifestyle that he needs to get stay away from. It's about focusing on his work and his goals, and he seems to think those influences take away from that focus.
McClain seems like a scumbag. Fairley too. Sure, those guys will find trouble wherever they go.
TM is one of my favorite Tigers of all time along with Josh Reed. It's specifically because I DON'T think TM is a gangbanger that I think a change of scenery is all he needs. He seems like a really good kid with a good heart that probably just doesn't have the heart to cut those people out of his life voluntarily.
Moving cities is pretty much all he needs. He wouldn't be the first good kid that simply couldn't turn his back on his old friends if they're in the same town, and consequently get dragged down to their level.
Not sure what other people have said to set off those posters, but I don't think what I said was such a controversial idea to get blasted like that.

TM7 is saying that because that's what people want to hear. He gets in trouble in BR with LSU football players, not in NOLA with old friends
yes it is because if you remove that, he's a first rounder. You can run from your problems all you want but that won't fix a thing. It's weed and only weed. That's his problem, not his friends, which by the way, he only seems to be hanging around other LSU football players when he gets in trouble.

I don't doubt that, although he did seem pretty heartfelt in that ESPN interview when he broke down to tears.

I'm not sure how much you follow LSU, but you don't really seem to understand the timeline. TM "got in trouble" with those former LSU players when he was arrested for the weed after already being dismissed from the team.
That was NOT where his problems started.
TM was kicked off of the LSU team for violating team rules throughout the offseason. In that ESPN interview he talked about the month between the 2011 SECCG and the BCSNCG when he was hanging around "other people" that didn't care about the team and caused him to "let his teammates down", and that continued throughout the offseason when he was finally dismissed because he "lost his focus".
He says after football was taken away from him was when he turned "to drugs" because the only thing he ever cared about was gone and he realized those people he had been hanging out with leading to his dismissal didn't care about the same things he did.
It seems like you're the one focusing on the weed, not me.
You're probably right though in that he's somewhat saying what he needs to.
But he truly does seem like a good kid that realizes there is some truth in what he's saying. It sounds like cliche because it's so often true.
Anyway, I'm not bashing you, but I just think I'm coming at this issue from a different place than you are and the way some other "TM is bad and addicted to weed" posters may be.

i could just dissect everything he says. I don't know what the deal is...he couldve been hanging out with people who live in BR. His dad comes off as a hardass (he was the UPS guy for where i worked in college) so I don't think NOLA will be a problem for him.
Listen to the interview with bobby and deke (they're awful) he comes off relaxed, natural and it gives you a good sense of what type of guy he is. i was shocked because i remember how fricking dumb he came off at the heisman ceremony but I think with dumb people, giving scripted answers makes them sound even worse.

Agreed 100%
I think his Heisman appearance was just him being really really nervous. He's actually pretty shy, and the somewhat unexpected invite to NY probably really threw him for a loop.
If you watch his other interviews throughout that season when he had time to prepare and kind of knew what to expect, like with Erin Andrews before the Bama game, he really comes off as a genuinely nice kid.
That's why I really don't think he's being fed answers at this point, because he sounds genuine and like he's really thought about things and come to some solid conclusions about himself and how he ended up out of football for a year.
And you're absolutely right, we could dissect this back and forth all day and we'll never know the deal.
I'm just saying as a HUGE Saints, LSU, and TM fan, I am really hoping he ends up anywhere other than the Saints (or any other NFC South team because he is a stud and I don't want the Saints to have to play him twice a year either

In the NFL network interview where he only vaguely said he wants to get away he came of as scripted
Anyway I'm a huge les miles fan (keep providing me with the laughs les), a huge Tulane football fan and a unabashed honey badger fanatic. Hope we get him. Will seek a ledge if he goes to a division rival
