Last Monday night I posted about how it would be nice if we got pressure like the jets. I was mocked and referred to the jets average record as some sort of proof that we don’t need to get pressure, as if we don’t also have an average record. One posted in particular listed a number of stats, generated against D3 and backup quarterbacks, as a reason why we don’t need pressure. Just laughable.
Less than 6 days later, we are getting carved up by the Vikings third QB of the year, who played for another team 10 days ago. He doesn’t even know half of his teammates names, and yet he looks like 2006 Michael vick against this vaunted, 85 bears saints defense. He just went 70 yards in less than 2 minutes, do you honestly think pressure wouldn’t help?
Just to answer everyone’s questions, the reason we get zero pressure and get absolutely neutered by running QB’s is because the scouting department is run by RAS scores. This regime would walk into traffic if a RAS score told them to. We absolutely refuse to draft a speed rusher because he is, by necessity, under 6’6, because some model won’t let us. We should just make RAS our GM at this point.
Not to worry- yesterday our Midwest scout was at the slippery rock college game yesterday and saw a 6’10 defensive tackle who has 0 career sacks that we are sure to take round 1. By the way, how many games of COD has Payton turner played today?

The late hit by granderson was the most pressure we’ve had on 4 games
