Good player, curious to see what Atlanta does for the secondary.

After we sign Nnamdi we will be set

Seriously, I am with you on this. I trust there is a plan but it would be nice to see what the hell it is.

No I didn't watch him play a lot last year but he was still more productive than any of our defensive linemen. I'm not saying he was worth the salary he was due to get but he was productive.

Did they sign Jason Pierre-Paul, Chris Canty and Justin Tuck too?

my context was that I'm not scared of Osi's threat to our offense

Should have just kept Abraham.

Osi is washed up.

He'll be pretty good for the 20 or so snaps he gets in the 10 or so games he plays in.

Well, I'll be honest, I'm concerned with the fact that Osi is older. Abe wasn't very good last season (minus about 2 games) but replacing Abe with Osi seems like a slight upgrade at best. It's still a good move (if it finally goes through) since the Falcons are pushing for a SB in the next year or so.

The biggest issue is the other side. Kroy Beiermann is a rotational/situational DE and has shown that he can't be a starter. The other guys are still really young and projects that may not blossom.

Just my take...

I don't think he's washed up by any means. That being said, he is 31 years old and has had two surgery on both knees.

Osi is 3 years younger than Abraham, but the last three years Abraham has had more sacks than Osi. Not to mention that in a contract year Osi only had 6 sacks where Abraham had 10.

Also, Osi has always played on a stud packed defensive line with guys like Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul and Chris Canty.

I made some joke about it on the MSB and of course people took what I said out of context. I was just starting what appeared to be another Falcons-Saints flame fest, since that is what the cool thing is to do over there

but ahhh... seriously, if the Saints had picked him up, this board would full of fap jokes and the Super Bowl talk would start to ring out. But since the Falcons got him he must suck, right?

decent signing IMO. I still think when ATL-NO play again this year, it will continue to be a shootout. The scores always seem to be pretty close.

As long as their expectations aren't too high, he'll be a good signing. Also, if they didn't pay too much. I'd say 7-8 mil would be a good value for Osi. He is just a bit of a cry baby, though. I think he is an upgrade from Abe, simply because of age, but I think Osi is a "buyer beware" kind of signing. I have same feeling for Nnamdi as well, but I still want the Saints to try to get him.

Major difference between Nnamdi and Osi IMO is that Nnamdi is a clear upgrade over PRob where Osi isn't a clear upgrade over Abraham.
