Love Moore, but I think that we're going to have to make a tough cut or two next season, so I think getting something for Moore now may be good idea.

And figure Morgan would be back as well. Lots of competition for Drew's passes.

Graham
Watson
Sproles
Pierre

Colston
Moore
Meachem
Morgan
Stills
Toon

will have to see how Morgan recovers from the knee, and Stills and Toon still need to show consistent in-game productivity before I am ready to trust them

I would also like to see if Meachem really has enough left to be a regular contributor/stretch WR down the field

I guess after Colston and Moore I see a bunch of question marks....I don't want to see the Saints end up like the current Patriots situation

Is it just me or is that the shittiest collections of WRs. I'm sorry, I just don't get it. Colston is good. Moore is adequate. The rest are lucky when they catch something it seems.

Cleveland is blowing up the roster and starting from scratch. I would get on the phone with Banner and see what it takes to get Joe Thomas out of there. That's about the only trade I would look into. I do agree moving Moore for a third or fourth round pick would be reasonable however.

Just because our guys aren't 99 on Madden doesn't mean we have bad wideouts. Brees constantly works on his timing and chemistry with them and Morgan was showing great promise before his injury. Our biggest problem is our OL. Brees is barely getting any time in the pocket so he's constantly dumping off to Thomas, Sproles, or going Graham's way.

Well no shite you would look into it. Who wouldnt? You honestly believe the Browns would give up Joe Thomas when they will need him for the next 5-7 yrs to protect Teddy Bridgewater?

Lance Moore is currently the highest paid receiver/running back on the Saints.

His contract is currently through 2015 and escalates half a million in 2014 then another 500k in 2015.

If we can get some quality picks for him now, I say go for it.

ETA: by currently highest paid, I'm just talking about the cap hit this year. Colston's contract is worth much much more.

It's not an over-reaction when people make such asinine statements.

They have stated that Joe Thomas is not available.

Should we offer Brees?

We aren't good enough at WR right now to trade anybody. We have good prospects, but it hasn't turned into production yet.

Who else is consistently getting open outside of Colston and Graham right now?

Sproles.

Stills is doing alright.

No, I'm just willing to concede that Drew Brees is the only reason this group is even called serviceable. The same reason he's worth whatever 20M+ a year they pay him. There are only about 2-3 other QBs that could do anything with this corps.

Colston is good.
Moore is alright but asking him to be anything but a slot #3 is borderline unfair.

Stills has promise but still has hands problems.

Morgan catches something deep every once in a while. So people get excited about that.

Meachem is literally on his last leg. Maybe has something left in the tank for the stretch.

The Saints just refuse to upgrade their receiver corps with anything but 5th and 7th round picks. But lets not pretend anything outside of Colston is barely a step above pedestrian.

5000 yards in the last two years. 4000 in the previous. Super Bowl. NFCCG apperance. 11, 13, 13 win season. Top 3-5 in offense every year.

Tell me, what do they need to do differently ?

Alright. But good enough to be the 2nd receiver on a team trying to win the Superbowl, yet? He has 3 catches

After Colston, the rest of our WRs have combined for a total of 9 catches.
