The media acts as if the Saints supporting the NFL in dismissing the fan suit has meaning.

Of course the Saints are taking the NFL side. Goodell is an arrogant SOB. Just look how he DESTROYED the Saints when they opposed him in Bountygate.

I know this suit has ZERO shot of going anywhere but I would still love to see some folks squirm through dispositions. I do think there are some skeletons regarding Bountygate that the Saints want to avoid coming out under oath. I think the source that gave the NFL most of the information was working in the executive office for the Saints at the time. FWIW, I think a certain granddaughter of an owner was the source. She felt disrespected by Payton and the Saints management and that was her way of consolidating power. I believe the later story about the "listening station" was leaked to her to see if the story got out confirming her as the leak. This was never made public because the information would publicly hurt the Saints as well as her.

As the Saints, and therefore the NFL, take our taxdollars to support the team even if we do not choose to buy tickets, I want them under oath to answer a few questions. I particularly want to see Bill Vinovich claim under oath his LIE that he did not see the play when several camera angles from the coverage and from fans in the stands show him staring down the play with his hand on his flag.

Saints are the NFL. Anyone who doesn't get the Saints' position in all of this is not grounded in reality. I knew the moment it happened with no flag that nothing was going to be done about it. Let's be honest. What can/should be done about it? The only thing you as an individual can do is stop monetizing the NFL.

Bad calls will happen, games will be influenced by officials, the world will go on.

The reason the Saints did what they did is to focus on THIS SEASON AND A CHAMPIONSHIP!

Not playing Court tv during football season.

I agree with that as well. They have NOTHING to gain from it.

My interest is purely academic.

The stupid lawsuit is the lamest and most embarrassing thing that saints fans have ever done.

I don’t get why they couldn’t keep it going just to try to get the officials or Goodell on the stand.
