He'd have to be cheap as we have other pressing needs elsewhere.

What makes you think he would be cheap.

ETA: I don't really know anything about him. What makes you like him for the Saints?

We have his replacement in Patrick. I doubt the Saints wasted a third round on a CB they thought would never contribute.

i like patrick alot but routt is a good zone cb and spag plays alot of zone im not saying he is a need that we immediately need to get but if his asking price is pretty low why not sign him to a 1 or 2 year deal

Was exactly my point. Routt would have to come VERY cheap for it to be worth it. I think we'll be good at CB with Greer, Robinson, and Patrick and need to concentrate on DL and LB.

Can ya even imagine him cheap?

-should be one of the top 5 CBs on the market
-28yrs old, 7 yr vet, 4 INTs last year
-his restructured deal last year was to 5yrs/$55mil

Price is exactly why he was cut. Porter is linked to Oakland cuz of former DB coach Allen and that he will be only a fraction of what Routt will cost- and he looks like a cap casualty in NOLA.
