So when we inevitably tank this year

Allen goes 5-12 or 6-11 and the Saints have a top 10 draft pick in the 2024 draft and are another year closer out of cap hell with Sean still on the market. Do we? Would Sean even want the job? I firmly believe we should try but part of me also just wants to be done with the whole thing. I’ve always been a huge Sean supporter but he really handled his exit from the Saints in the worst possible way for a fanbase that was completely behind him. He could have been royalty for the rest of his life in Louisiana but his ego fricked that all up.

He may want to come back. The question would be whether Gayle wants him back. There were at least three occasions we know of where he thought about leaving and the last one was when he did leave.
If it was up to Loo-fus, he'd probably hire him back. But she may have gotten tired of the back-and-forth every few years. I don't blame her. He can stay "retired" from coaching.

I’m not sure Gayle would be the hold up. She loves Sean and was even telling him to take time off if he needed or wanted to but he just wanted out to a bigger stage with brighter lights and more money. If he wasn’t such a gifted offensive mind and more important a team leader I would say frick him but if he is willing to at least have a conversation about a return I don’t see how you couldn’t take that opportunity. One thing is assured though, next season will be laughably brutal and at the end of it we will be poised to have a high enough draft pick to draft or trade for a QB.

I think everyone on here overestimated what a coach values draft picks as. Coaches typically don’t like rookies unless it’s Trevor Lawrence or someone like that. I think most coaches prefer established veterans over draft picks IMHO.

Sorry, but the Saints are going to win the South if Brady leaves Tampa.

We will trade this yrs 2nd and next yrs first for a first this yr.
They cant help themselves.
Prob end up with another interior offensive lineman or D end.
Thats the MO.
