Keep in mind there's a learning curve for running backs. I think Ingram will be better than Ivory by mid-season. Ivory was dogshit his first few games last year - give our rookie a break.
They'll both be valuable backs down the stretch.

I watched the highlight video, and there is a lot of good stuff in it. Wathcing Ivory run through defenders like they don't exist has me excited for ihs return.
I also saw runs between the tackles out of a spread formation, which creates a lot of space for a guy as quick as Ivory.
I also saw plays where a lack of vision cost him good yardage. Specifically, watch the run at the 2:36 mark against the Bengals. As he hits the 33 yard line, the seam he is aiming for begins to close. When he gets to the 35, he has a small gap dead ahead with a safety coming in to plug the gap and a CB coming across in support. He hits the hole, runs through the safety, and picks up additional yardage. However, if he made a slight move to his right and made a move to angle towards the far sideline, he would have had the entire Brngals defense (except for one guy) either behind him with no chance to catch up or already engaged by Saint blockers.
There are also great runs where he shows excellent vision and makes some stunning cuts to the open field.

Also, if you want to compare the two at this point, look at the teams Ivory ran against in his first four games last year. Three of them were ranked from 23 to 30 in rushing defense last year.
Ingram has rushed against some of the top rushing defenses so far this year, including a Jaguar D that held Chris Johnson to under 30 yards.

So no excuses after carolina right?

If we run all over Carolina and Ingram isn't a healthy part of it, I will be both shocked and disappointed.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get a lead and go to a straight vanilla offense, though.
Either way, Ingram and every other back on the roster should have the chance to go nuts against the Kitties.

The Heisman was based off a larger body of work than what either of the two hav eproduced in the pros so far, and was won against much tougher competition then what Ivory faced in college.
Ivory had a full rookie season. His rookie season is far more impressive than a heisman. College production doesn't mean shite anymore. We know that ingram is the more durable back, because Ivory can't stay helthy.

and fumbled 3 times in that stretch
he had a fumbling problem, but he fixed it over the course of the season.

It also doesn't change the fact that he has durability issues and Ingram is poised to have a better career both because of natural ability (which they both have in spades) and his ability to withstand the rigors of an NFL season.
no one has said otherwise

except it isn't about the first 4 games with ivory. We have a full season of seeing what he can do. We are talking about what Ivory brings to the table right now if he is healthy. Ingram has yet to show that he is as good as Ivory, because it is almost an impossible feat. Ivory had an incredible rookie season, and I believe he was leading the NFL in broken tackles at one point

first 4 games
It applies since that's all Ingram has had so far. If you want to compare how Ivory looked last year compared to how Ingram looks this yeat, it's unfair to look at how Ivory did in week 12 after having months to get used to the speed of the game at this level when Mark has only had 4 games.

Something that Ingram has so been quite average at. His biggest gains require big holes.
