Aaron Brooks should get one, too. Without him sucking so bad we would have never gotten Brees. I love Deuce and he gets all the respect in the world from saints fans. But, he does not deserve a ring if we win a superbowl (i cant believe ppl are talking about a superbowl at 2-0)

Hurricane Katrina should get a ring. Without the hurricane, Brees may have not have felt god's calling to come save our city.

Why? any legit reasoning behind it? Other than he was a good player and a good person. But that doesnt warrant you a ring for a team that you are not on. Deuce is my favorite saint, but i dont see the purpose.

It's not like he'd be getting a real ring, people. It just for show. Obviously he wouldn't have contributed to anything on the field this year.
He was the heart and soul of this team for a good long while, and even while he isn't there everyone in and around the team LOVES him. If we win the Superbowl THIS year, the first year he is "retired", then yes. If we are a year early and win it next year then no.
It would be just for the moment. Just to trot him out there and give him one more reason for the fans to cheer his name. I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with that. It doesn't even have to be a real ring in the box. It can be a replica like you'd find on eBay.

Deuce was great for the team in his time and carried the entire team to the NFC Championship a few years ago. But that was his team. This is not his team, no matter how badly some of us (myself included) want it to be. And because of this, he isn't deserving of it.
