Cadet and Coleman did not impress me at all. Strozier, meanwhile, showed some very good quickness. I know people said he was quick like Sproles but he may be quicker.

I'm liking our young LBs. I think it's time to cut bait with Hawthorne and keep an extra one of these youngins.

Walker looking even better than last preseason. Hopefully his health holds up. Him and Foster are solid Dline depth.

Hill was looking pretty good tonight. I could easily see him becoming the #2 TE after this year(hell maybe even during this year).

I liked that Robinson had a couple of receptions.

Just some random thoughts. Penalties will go down, especially when it's the starters getting most of the snaps.

Final thought: Dimke looks to good to cut(at the moment). I think unless he fricks up and starts shanking he is going to force the team to keep him over Graham.

I actually thought Cadet played pretty well.

We knew that running wasn't his strength, and he didn't get many receptions.
I'd like to see him targeted more.

But yeah, Coleman was awful.

8 rushes for 9 yards. A few of those I can forgive because he had no room, but he has no burst or vision in the run game.

He had one "good" reception for 14 and another for 6. For someone that's supposed to "replace" some of Sproles' role he just doesn't have even close to the quickness that Sproles had.

And his returns are just as bad as Sproles' were(not just based on his one tonight).

All that camp talk and he showed none of that in the game. I actually was getting hyped up hoping he could do more but my opinion of him has fallen back to what it was before.

On Coleman, I think he really just needs a redshirt year. His issues can be worked on, but I don't think he makes the 53 unless he has a major turnaround.

Plus, Graham left the game tonight with trainers all around him.

Yeah I caught that too.

Any other injuries anyone caught? I know I saw Sweeting walking off and I think someone else?

I'd also say Wade is ahead of Jean-Baptiste in the CB pecking order.

Not that Wade didn't have mistakes but JB looked completely lost at times.

Meanwhile Sunseri and Warren both flashed, and Ball didn't look bad. Safety is going to be interesting, as is LB.

Humber looked solid, and like I said a bunch of the youngins show a lot of promise. Dawson looked solid as well.

At this point the only easier position to pick on defense as for who makes it is the Dline.

And not that we saw much of Flanders, but I liked what I saw from Strozier a lot more.

I would add Griffin to winners and the whole backup secondary to losers. (excluding a few)

If Strozier wore 43, I would think he was Sproles.

Good list. I think you gotta add Knox to the winners(and Fortt showed he at least has the athleticism to play OLB). And Griffin like someone said. Dimke as well.

Sidenote, I noticed a few times Griffin had trouble handling the snap and actually fumbled one, so it's definitely a Griffin problem. Never happens with Brees or McCown. He definitely needs to work on it.

Pretty much. He looked great on his return and on his catches and run as far as showing the burst. Definitely hope he can be stashed, unless he shows a lot more(then you have to 53 him).

Griffin did well - I don't see much between him and McCown TBH.

Tyrun Walker was unblockable in the 2nd half.

I agree and I like Fortt's versatility - our starting LBs are unspectacular id like for them to be pushed harder by young players with upside.

If this means him and McCown both looked good I agree.

But Griffin is the winner in that case because they will go with youth, all other things close to equal.

And yeah Lofton is solid but not anything more. I'd love to get more impact and honestly Knox and Humber look better than Hawthorne by miles, and looked better than Lofton tonight too.

shite forgot about Toon but I'll say that is a good thing. 3 targets and 3 catches(NO DROPS). Definitely looks like he could be Colston's eventual successor. He just needs to keep this up.

Definitely in the winner category.

yarp.

Disagree about Cadet. He looked ok. Don't forget that he had a 5 yard loss where he didn't stand a chance. Strozier looked better, doe.

Three catches for like ten yards. Also had a big penalty.

The only thing about Toon is he can not get any YAC what so ever. He never tries to turn around and get a few extra yards.

I dunno.

I saw Toon making catches, but he just seemed...lax.
Like he wasn't putting in much effort.
