He has a bonus due on the 17th this month that makes that a bad idea, although (if the rule still exists) you can designate him as one of your two post June 1st cuts that you cut early.
It doesn't save you the money now, but come Jine 1st it would act as a cut on that date, and avoid the bonus he is about to be due.
You can do that but you would have to carry his contract till then and they need to get under the cap by the new league yr. They would've had to mess with every contract on the roster if they were making Carr a post June cut and they haven't.
They will be in the same situation next yr. Hopefully next yr they will have enough cap space to actually make him a post June cut to split that money up. I think it would be about 50 mil between a couple yrs.

A big reason why I don't think he is getting cut at all. It's too messy and loses you money compared to just restructuring him. It commits you to more money, but unless they are ABSOLUTELY sure they can get another sure fire starter (or the new coach just hates him that much) I just don't see them doing it.
We can still cut him next year, with more room to spare and do it as a true June 1st and spread the hit. So I think we will keep him this year and let it all play out.

Right. It was going to be entirely too messy this year with what contracts they had.

Carr needs to take pay cut is only way

We have no real leverage to make that happen. Unless Carr is just a really nice guy, it's just not going to happen.

The guy picked taking as much money as he could to play for Dennis fricking Allen. Hes a mid qb trying to sack as much away while hes still employed. He’s not giving up a cent (I would do the same thing).

Why in the world would he do that? I wouldn't.
