25, y’all act like he’s a geriatric.
26, and as a rookie in the NFL, that is geriatric....
what it does mean is that the timeline for him to be a productive player is much, much shorter than someone who is 21, 22... think about it... players typically retire around 35, with most of them starting to decline in production 2-3 years prior to that... so given his age, he has 6-7 years of possible "prime" production... if he takes 2 or 3 years to get to that, that means that all we'd get out of him is 3-4 years of max production out of him... and that's IF he works out and actually produces... so as you can see, the "window" for him is very short... that's why he HAS TO be ready to roll a lot sooner than a guy that is younger, b/c he has a very small amount of time to be productive... we already know he's had significant injuries, and those typically aren't good for long careers in the NFL, so don't expect any Brady-esque long career from him... personally, i think he's out of the league after his rookie contract is up, but i guess we'll see...
but there is NOTHING about him that screams NFL QB1 to me... he is, at best, a career back up, so basically we took a career backup at the 40 spot... is that what you really want from this FO? those type of picks?

Vet would cost more $$$$$. Dont have the cap space for a vet.
ain't' Loomis a genius with the cap? you definitely can get a vet for vet minimum to come in a give you at least the EXACT SAME thing that Shough gives you... with the exception that a vet can bring experience, something Shough can't offer...

He’s the only thing we really have at the position though
this i agree with... and the fact that Spencer fricking Rattler is the only thing of worth at QB is fricking depressing as hell..

Doomed as soon as we let Fontenot go to the Falcons
bruh, he ain't exactly knocking it out of the park in ATL... go look at his draft track record... shittier than ours, tbh

I think Moore will be a good HC
i'm 50/50 on him, but i'm willing to give him a shot to prove me wrong, let's just say that...

And that’s why you go get a vet.
Flacco or Teddy B was floating out there. This wasn’t the year to draft a qb.
Especially with a top 40 pick.
We will be doing the same next draft
this guy fricking gets it

shite that is some amazing math and analysis.
You have convinced me that CKM is a idiot who doesn't know nfl facts. Fire him. Why keep a coach this ignorant of how football really works.
Sell the damn team!

None of those bums help you long term
neither does Shough or Rattler... both of these guys are very much career backups, at best
i understand the constant need for optimism, but it's okay to be realistic... Shough, from all indications from the practice reports, is very rattled by pressure and gets turnover prone...
honest question, you think he's going to be BETTER vs. live competition of opposing defenses constantly bringing pressure, given the evidence we are getting from practice reports?
Posted on 8/6/25 at 1:16 pm to Townedrunkard
Maybe next time we will hire a HC who actually played the position.

CKM is a idiot
he's not... nor did i say he was... but i do think he fricked up drafting an older project QB with the 40 pick of this year's draft... your hyperbole is dually noted

Question do qbs get better the fewer games they play?

what does that have to do with ANYTHING of Moore as a coach? there are multitudes of former players who are now coaches that didn't work out... being a former player (and Moore barely was, not like was really any good in the NFL) doesn't guarantee NFL HC success...

i don't understand your logic with this question... flesh out the point you are trying to make and then ask the question a different way

That’s your opinion which will eventually be proven correct or incorrect. It’s a fact that Wentz or whoever else suck and offer no value.

I don’t know. I think it’s not even halfway thru camp and he should be afforded the patience and room to improve as anyone else would be.
The odds are that both guys never amount to much but I’m not going to pin that on them until it’s proven. That’s not even optimism, it’s common sense.

He’s 25. I don’t understand why we can’t at least be honest about his actual age

He’s 25
for a majority of the NFL season, he's 26... the minutiae of him being 25 one more month, and for a lesser part of the season is ridiculous, and you know it

That’s your opinion
what's your opinion, right now, from what you've seen and/or heard?
what is it that you are seeing and hearing about either one of these guys that says they are anything close to quality NFL starting QB? because from what we saw of Rattler and are hearing of Shough, it's not exactly cause for optimism...
Posted on 8/6/25 at 2:10 pm to chRxis
I think it’s ridiculous to not call him by the age he actually is, until he isn’t. Proves you have an agenda too.

if he were younger, i could get on board with this... unfortunately, he was taken pretty high, and is older than most prospects, so, no, he doesn't get that same patience and time as other QB prospects... you don't take a 26 year old QB at 40 and try to "give them time" to develop, the same as you do a 21 or 22 year old QB... they simply don't have as much time... that's 4 less seasons to figure it the frick out... at that age, you have to be NFL ready, period... or very damn close to it, to where you develop into it very, very quickly... but from what is being reported out of camp, vs. his own team's defense, it's not sounding too promising... and his tape and scouting report backs up exactly what is being reported out of camp... he struggles with pressure and that leads to turnovers... exactly what you DON'T want from a QB

ok, he's 25... the FACT is still the same... he's older than most QB prospects, and thus his timeline has to be a lot tighter than younger QB prospects... period

My opinion is that neither are high level NFL QBs right now. Both have more than enough physical tools to at least give them a punchers shot at being good.
For Rattler, it’s an incomplete. He showed flashes last year but typically it was a good half then a bad half. He also was saddled with utter trash around him. But he showed enough to say, ok I’m interested in seeing more.
For Shough, it’s been like 12 practices. I think he looks like what 99.9% of rookies look like. I’ll wait and see.

Shough and Rattler….
After Saints Geaux 4-13 on the season…
this whole board will be frustrated and screaming for Saints to Draft a Franchise QB with their top 5 pick….. as those 2 QBs will have contributed heavily to Saints losing record.
The real question is….will Saints keep both QBs as back-ups or trade one, next year, if another team shows interest.
