Question about contract talks with Andrew Brees

What is the timeline for a deal like this? I see absolutely no way he plays for anyone but the saints. With that said, we have to get Andrew signed before we start talking to other players IMO. I would love to sign him on March 14th(but wont happen) so we have time to work other deals out with our other two top free agents. So what is a realistic timeline for getting Brees signed?

you also pronounce his last name as "breece" not brees, but it stuck in middle school so he went with it.
