I'll be heading up there but don't have tickets yet. Anyone ever have any luck buying a pair of tickets outside the stadium from someone trying scalping them? If so, what kind of beating am I looking at taking?

Don't buy tickets yet!

2 options for buying tickets easy and cheap at Patriots place.

1. joing the Patriots Ticket Exchange (this is what I did). To do this, add your name to the season ticket wait list, pay the $200 refundable charge, then you have access to face value tickets sold buy season ticket holders that can't make it to the game. Check the site on Saturday and buy them then. Lower bowl seats are $110 - $185. After the game, take your name off the wait list and get your money back.
2. get the stub hub phone app. Stub Hub sets up a temporary game day spot in the Renaissance hotel at Patriots Place. Check the app often. For the last game, ticket prices got as low as $50 30 minutes before the game. This is another great way to do it b/c it's essentially limited to only people on site since it takes so long to get there.

To get to/from the game. There is a commuter rail that will take you there but to get the train back you literally need to sprint to the train station after the game ends. Parking is $40 in the main lots, more like $20-$30 in all of the other lots off the main Washington St. But takes literally 2 hours just to leave the parking lot. For me, my wife is dropping me and my other NOLA friends off at the game, then will pick us up in one of the neighborhoods down about 2 miles down the road...avoid all of the traffic.

Any other questions let me know. I go to my fair share of Pats games and live pretty close so am very familiar with the area.

frick...this sounds miserable. I'm glad the SuperDome is in a reasonably good location.

As long as I am at Boston's airport to catch my redeye 5:30 am flight back to NOLA on Monday morning I'll be happy.

Can't wait till the Patriots game. I think this year is our year. It should be a great atmosphere. We will see if the Pats can beat the Falcons this weekend. Anyone up for drinking and tailgating? Anyone having a tailgate for the Patriots game?

If i'm reading the schedule correct, and the Sox make it to the ALCS then they would play Saturday and Sunday with the Saints game also Sunday.

Only if the Sox keep the best record in the AL. Currently they are 2 games ahead of Oakland with 3 games to play. If its a tie, Oakland has the tie breaker.

Fingers crossed the Red Sox hang on to the lead, I already bought my ALCS tickets.

What are some of the current prices on the Patriots ticket exchange?

Know of any caterers who set up tailgates? We have a large group an chartered a bus from Boston, but I cant find any caterers willing to do this. Its never been a problem in other cities, but so far no luck in Boston.

What specifically are you looking for, a caterer who will go out to Gillette and set up the tailgating for you? I don't know anyone who does that. Most of the catering is done through party platters. Send me a PM and we can talk.

There are no tickets available yet. Tickets don't show up for the game until day before... For the Pats/Jets game there were no tickets available on Monday then by Thursday after work there were 1,000 tickets available - it's essentially for season ticket holders who find out last minute they can't go and want to get their money back.

Ticket prices are only sold at face value ($65 - $185).

Again, your other option is stub hub and you can literally pick up your ticket on site 10 minutes before game time and often for less than face.

This is going to be a great game. Might match 2 undefeated teams. Anyone ever been around Pats fans? How do they treat the visitor? I will have my 10 yr old son and wife with me.
