I never felt that way.
I wasnt accusing the NFL of helping us, I was accusing the media of pittying us. You never felt the media feeling sorry for us and constantly talking about how tragic that storm was every chance they got. Hell last season they actually showed clips of Katrina hitting the city. I am fricking tired of the pity, and I definitely felt it from the media.

I just don't know if I see Brees that way
He is on a mission as Payton's protege and executive head of the NFLPA and face of the Saints Franchise to shove wins and records in Goodell's face. He isnt going to do it as a loud flashy media hog,he is going to quietly let his play speak for itself. He is gonna take on the role of silent skilled retribution and it is going to be amazing to watch.

Opinion on how the Saints will respond
quote:
there's a widespread feeling the Saints played by different rules than others the past few years and enjoyed an unfair advantage until they were caught. Moreover, there's a feeling that the organization was so defiant, so arrogant, so downright out-of-touch that it didn't give a rip what the commissioner or league office said about bounties, head injuries or player safety; it was going to play the way it was going to play, and like it or lump it.
That is horseshite. I've literally lost track of the number of current and former players that are saying that everyone does it. Saints just got caught. The Saints are literally sacrificial lambs.
I agree. WHAT fricking "unfair advanteage" ?
Who did we hurt since Gregg Williams came in 2009? WHO exactly?
Kurt Warner? That was a block after an INT. A vicious, hard block, but he wasn't going after Warner's head! There was no flag.
Brett Favre? Yes Favre was hit all game, but that was more a function of a piss-poor Viqueen OL. What were the Saints DL supposed to do? Rush like hell with steam coming out their ears, then as they approached Favre...STOP ??????
There was not ONE late hit penalty called on the Saints. Not one.
How many Saints' opponents players were "carted off" in 2009,2010,2011 ???
How man ACL's were hit or made worse?
Zero. 0. The null set. Nothing. 0.
In addition, I really don't think Williams' speeches or 'pay for performance' system (bounty is an ESPN made up term) HELPED the Saints defense, and I don't think the players actually bought into it.
Otherwise, would't there be some opposing players complaining? Warner and Favre arent't !

I doubt we lose a game in the Dome. People in NOLA will be bitter and angry for the near future and will take some of it out on opposing teams. Our road games are going to be brutal. We could drop a few of those. I see us at least being competitive for the playoffs. As long as nothing happens to No.9 we should be ok. Look what happened to the Pats the year of Spygate.
