The jury is still out.

Seems like our offensive coordinator forgets we have very good WR’s…

I don’t like the fact that he goes into a shell if the QB makes one mistake and just runs the ball every time

Exactly my thoughts. Last week, this week same dumb runs that get blew up in the backfield on crucial 3rd downs smh

Our WRs are none involved so teams can key in on the backfield.

What? We have 2 new OL, including a center who was on the PS last week. We only have 2 WR. And our QB just threw a sidearm pick 6. I wasn’t sure we’d score 14 points on offense all day today, but we’ve managed to put together 2 really nice, long drives based almost solely on play calling.

It’s like his scripted 10-15 are absolutely flawless (sans McCoy injury last week), but when he faces the ebbs and flows of a competitive game - he can’t push the right buttons.
I think he’s got a bright future, but the dude needs to not be so cute in the playcalling.

Dude, with our personnel, he has no choice but to get “cute.” We’ve moved the ball really well this half. I think your perceptions would be different if we hadn’t gifted the Falcons 14 points and it was 14-3 instead of 17-14.

Stevie Wonder can see it, why can’t you?

No, my perception would be different if he didn’t call a sweep with backup linemen as lead blockers on a key 3rd and 3.
Like I said, I think he’s got a very bright future, but some of the calls have been questionable to say the least. Maybe your perception would be different if the first two games didn’t skew what we’re seeing today.

So, 1 play?

All play calls that don’t work are questionable in hindsight.

That doesn’t make sense. If my perception was skewed by those games, I’d have much higher expectations and be disappointed today. But my expectations were tempered based on the fact that we’ve got so many guys out. Hell, even at full strength, this offense is lacking at least 2 more play-making pass catchers.
It’s amazing we are able to run the ball at all considering that and our OL issues. Teams aren’t scared of Carr and our passing game. They are committed to stopping the run. Yet, we’re still able to run it based on all the different looks Kubiak is able to present them with. And Taysom wasn’t in on that drive and most of the one before. I’m not ready to crown Kubiak the GOAT or anything, but he’s done a very nice job today so far.

They just did that dumb sweep again, lost 3, then Carr get sacked.
