This sounds like it will be a major problem for us if this bill gets passed.

Why in the world would LA lawmakers want this passed?

You don't honestly believe that limited worker's comp is really going to create a problem?

The only players who would think twice about this issue would be guys on minimum salary; these are guys who will take a contract from just about any team that offers one.

And yet again, Brees feels compelled to jump on his soap box.

Please advise your players of the potential consequences of the Saints' efforts should they sign with the Saints.
That's what he said. If the agents or players don't like what they see that's the Saints' fault, not his.

And especially UDFAs where we've been very good at finding gems.

And not all of those min/low salary guys suck.

That said, I don't think it would have a huge impact but I sure hate that Smith put it out there like he did. But the Saints' are the ones who put it out there first.

Oh I agree... but I still dont like that a person of power, that fights for the players, is advising people to not go to a certain team.

I hope it does get passed. They don't deserve preferential treatment. As for Drew Brees, he was in California previously touting that they players should be treated equally as everyone else with regards to WC. Now that LA wants to pass this bill, he thinks they should get more than others.

You're the same clueless guy from the other thread.

This isn't about preferential treatment. They are literally taking the same law that works the same way for everyone(pay based on the last 52 weeks) and changing it so that players only get paid based on the last few weeks.

That means if they get hurt in the offseason they are fricked if they get cut instead of going on IR.

A lof of fools on here. Smith is doing what he's supposed to do. What he's paid to do. Look out for the players best interests. Who gives a damn what ya'll think.
