I don't think you even watch the shite you post.

He got pushed back at least 3-4 times in that game when the tackle ran right at him.

He was basically a non factor in the run game.

Alright you're just fricking with me at this point.

No I'm not. And if anyone cares to watch the clip to confirm one way or another be my guest, because he was pushed back at least 3 times.

Before I thought you were misguided but now I honestly think you are trolling or really don't know what the frick you are watching.

Edit:
LINK

There's the link you posted claiming it shows bend (it does not) and claiming he doesn't get pushed back.

Anyone who cares to watch it and see how much of a joke you are making it out to be be my guest.

This doesn't mean he's a fricking non factor in the run game.

Derek Barnett gets shoved back fricking 10 times a game but you're touting him as some great anchor.

At least 3 times.

He also destroyed Ryan Ramczyk and his RT buddy at least 3 times.

Likewise. I don't think you know jack shite about DL play.

He was a non factor in the run game because when the ran at him he was blown off the line and when they ran away from him he never hustled to the play.

I think he made one unblocked assisted tackle in the whole clip.

Show me where he was blown off the line.

I don't even know what this means. Are you saying he doesn't hustle well enough? There's only so much you can do when the ball is run to the opposite side and you're not Barkevious Mingo

There's his game stats.

He played Wisconsin once. He had 2 assisted tackles (so I missed one) and half a sack.

Yeah he really killed Ryan Ramczyk there.

You obviously have no fricking clue or are completely trolling.

Holy frick.

I don't...

Did you even watch the film? He gave Ramczyk fits all day. At this point I just don't think you know how football works.

Will edit in.

First time getting pushed back (and to the ground to boot) was about 37-38 seconds in. It was a double team but then was pushed down by one guy after the other disengaged.

Very next play he was pushed back by a double team again (these were early in the video which is why I likely forgot they were on doubles).

His half sack came against the RT (not Ramczyk) and he was the second player to the QB. That was around 2:20?

3:40 pushed back one on one by a FB.

4:05ish pushed back one on one by a HB or FB.

4:20 easily cut block by a HB.

Btw, this isn't even all the times he just got stonewalled against the run or pass rush.

Oh my lord...

Son that's called a double team and he actually held up pretty damn well. He only fell down when he was trying to pursue the ball carrier and got pushed down. There's absolutely nothing wrong there.

You seriously don't get football.

Good job trying to take a still that still doesn't show him bending (except being bent back by the tackle, which is NOT the kind of bending you want to see).

Bending is dropping your inside shoulder below the tackle's waist (or AT LEAST below his chest) and maintaining balance on the way in to the QB.

Just go watch any Barnett clip. THAT is bending.

No. No he didn't. He got half a sack and maybe 2 other pressures all game.

"Bend the edge" is a phrase dude. It's not a technique.

It means to get around the tackle low and with speed. Imagine you're bending the end of the OL like it's a piece of metal.

That's exactly what you see here:

I seriously don't feel like explaining fundamentals of DL play to you. Like holy crap.

Shame on you for making me think you knew a damned thing about DL.

Went back and watched again and that one is my bad. It was a double.

Still watching (though posting in between isn't helping) for the others.

Only he is not low in that pick. He is standing up right (or was) and the tackle is pulling him backwards.

You never want to bend backwards. Ever.

Watch Barnett. He bends his shoulder forwards under the tackle.

Also the tackle washed him past the QB on that play.

He's fricking diagonal dude. He's not standing up. The tackle is trying to redirect him outside away from his QB.

ETA: Looking closely, you can tell that Taco's helmet is far below the tackles shoulder pads.

What the frick does this even mean?!?!!?

Barnett beats the tackle with speed before they can get a hand on him.

Yeah. Proper technique by the tackle. It doesn't mean that Taco isn't bending the edge. He needs to work on coming back inside. Say it with me: p-o-l-i-s-h

ETA:

This is what bending means:

This is fricking idiotic. You said I said he was trash and there is literally one post in my entire history about him where I clearly said I liked him but hadn't given him much thought because I thought he was too good to even make it to us. You literally just conjured some fake opinion out of thin air and tried to apply it to me.

You are the biggest fricking idiot on this board, please do us all a favor and stop posting, you contribute nothing but regurgitated media garbage, you don't understand football at all

Simple. If the tackle bends you backwards you lose leverage and that's why he was easily washed out.

If you bend forward you keep momentum to the QB and force the tackle to let you through or commit a penalty (of it's called is another question).

The most bending Taco did was a half second shoulder dip below the tackle's shoulder (which isn't very low at all) and every time it was ineffective.

Unless we want to count the two times he fell or the times the tackle bent him backwards.

quote:

Looking closely, you can tell that Taco's helmet is far below the tackles shoulder pads.

His helmet was at best even with the tackle's shoulder pad. And that's only because the tackle bent him back. Again not the bend you look for.

Dude. Bending the edge means to bend the OL. It's not literal.

There's not tackle bending him backwards. He gets pushed away because Taco didn't advantage of the great position and turn the speed into power. As I said, he lacks polish. He could've easily thrown the tackle away with that kind of leverage.

quote:

I'm just going to ignore this. You have no idea as to what you're talking about.

Once again. Bending is not a physical technique. It's a buzzword. Getting low is not bending. Using your hands is not bending. Gaining leverage is not bending. What Taco is doing to round the corner is textbook.

quote:

Unless we want to count the two times he fell or the times the tackle bent him backwards.

I just...

I don't get why you think this is how it works...

Alright bruh. You got no idea as to what the frick you're looking at and trying lecture me like you're an expert.

Ima leave you alone because you're just straight up ignorant about football. I forgive you.
