once dad caught wind of the prize he prob just gave the kid a blank check for all his popcorn so he could win.

I definitely would've sold way more popcorn when I was in Scouts if that was the reward. Of course, the Saints didn't have a Lombardi then.

I was the fundraising chair for the Pack this year and was told the scouts selling over $750 in would be rewarded with a trip/your to the Saints training facility for a day. I told them (100+ scouts)this would be a reward in a beginning of the year program.
Fast-forward to the end of the season and only two of our scouts qualified, one being my son. I got an email from Council stating that they couldn't reach and agreeable date for the tour so they would give us two $8 tickets to a VooDoo game.
Obviously I wasn't happy, but wasn't anything I could do. I was discussing it with some other parents at a scout function over the weekend and one of the parents made a phone call to someone in media relations with the Saints. She did not tell me she was going to do this.
He called my wife and apologized, not knowing what happened. He asked for the whole story, then said, "would it be ok if I stopped by your house tomorrow with the Superbowl Trophy?"
So we invited the other qualifying scout and all of the other high selling scouts who otherwise wouldn't have qualified (and a couple close personal friends). The kids loved it....much better than a friggin VooDoo game. I don't even think my 8 yo knows what the voodoo is. Bottom Line, the Saints did a really nice thing for the scouts
But the wifey sleeping with Rita would've been a better CSB...
