No you’re missing the point, you think that because you give up an extra pick or two that you can’t still build a roster? KC and Buffalo both traded picks for their QBs and their rosters didn’t fall off a cliff after that because they continued to make good moves.
What part of they already had good rosters before trading up do you not understand? KC hired Reid after the 2012 season. They had the first pick in 2013. They did not trade up for Mahomes until 2017. That’s 5 drafts later FIVE! 2013 was a bad draft, they took Eric Fisher 1, they did not have a 2nd pick, in the 3rd they took Travis Kelce. When they traded up it was Buffalo that moved back. Buffalo got pick 27 in 17 and KCs 1 in 2018. They had 2 first round picks in 2018 and used 1 to move up for Allen. Do the Saints have 2 firsts this year? No, well then it’s NOT the same scenario.
I get your point just fine. You think it’s smart to trade up and get a QB. That’s fine in theory but you what don’t seem to grasp is not every situation is the same and that applies to teams and the draft itself. there will be other drafts after this year. You don’t have to have everything lined up RIGHT NOW. This is a bad QB draft. Trading up for a reach QB with a bad/old roster is the type of thing that keeps franchises in a doom loop of losing.
Build for a year or 2, work thru the bad contracts and then move up when there is a better QB class.

Trading from 40 to 20 so you can take a chance on a QB is not going to keep the franchise in a doom loop ??. Learn ball

Playoff team (notice a trend yet)
fricking idiot thinks only playoff teams should draft qbs.

But if we have to wait until we are a playoff team before we go get a qb, we will probably never do it.
No team would apply this logic, so correct.
Teams are going to qb’s wtf is this moron logic some idiots are trying to spin.
