I mean, it's there if someone is sloppy, but the league also benefits from the buzz created by these leaks. I guess that more than anything is why you don't them coming down on it.

Pat, I could talk all day about the NFL and its hypocritical position towards integrity in the service of the shield.

I'm pretty sure that is Goodell's mantra. Preach Integrity, Safety, and Care. Practice hypocrisy and negligence.

Cerullo.

That was more Cerullo being a peasant bitch than the NFL punishing us for firing him, Tigerbait.
The NFL punished us for other, more draconian reasons.

I didn't say the NFL punished us for firing him.

He shouldn't have been used as a reliable source though.

I see what you're saying now.

Bountygate is like a wound that never seems to close.

We can do that AND give the players a call before they find out from twitter.

It's the new norm unfortunately. I know 8 past and present NFL players; most of the older guys that are retired have told me that GMs used to have much more direct contact with the players. The few young guys in the NFL that I know don't really deal with the GM that much, except on the day they are signed or renegotiated, and even then a lot of times it's a production. Meeting with the GM is kind of one of those formal practices that no one enjoys. You have to consider the personality types, Loomis is an accountant; football players are professional athletes. Most players prefer just cold honesty with the business side of football; don't try to hug them and be their buddy.

Also the GM position at this time of year (with free agency) is a very taxing job. Considering the moves we've made in Free Agency this year, it's no surprise that some of the niceties get abandoned when you are obviously putting in overtime to make the numbers work.

Lance Moore owes he's career to the Saints and Drew Brees. Maybe when the Steelers cut him in the preseason he can come back on a min deal.

He'll make the roster. He had 37 catches with us last year....for 2014, you taking the over or under?

I say under.

My Steeler friends seem pretty excited about the signing. Called him the perfect slot receiver. I was like "Wait, wut?" I mean Lance is nice and all, but...yall have fun.

I don't see him working well with a gunslinger QB like Big Ben. He needs a Drew, Peyton, Brady type QB style IMO.

He was a good receiver who made some great catches during his career here.

He would have been successful anywhere. His health is the only thing that has held him back
