Is the NFL’s close contact the same as CDC guidance?

Less than 6’ for 15min over a 24hr span unless you kiss/hug the other person. My understanding is that players have some sort of tracking device on their person so did the whole RB group exceed that 15 min threshold. If so is that 15 min taken up by actual practice time alone bc you would figure staying 6’ away is not that hard to do in settings other than actual on field practice.

Why can't they play if they test negative the day of?

Or two days in a row?

Because it can take a few days to become symptomatic or to test positive.

However, research/studies have shown you can potentially transmit it before you test positive or are symptomatic.

FWIW, one of the few contact tracing questions I was asked is if I went anywhere in the 2 days prior to having symptoms.

Ok. They can’t space themselves out in the room?

Link to said studies?

I work in a hospital and even close contacts to confirmed positives can continue working as long as they socially distance and keep their mask on.

My understanding is “essential” workers are treated differently when it comes to close contacts.

I'm not necessarily essential.

But if the RB's were indeed within 6 ft for 15 min or more, then it appears the NFL is consistent with CDC guidelines. I have no problem with them being consistent on the matter.

If they were simply in the room with them, are asymptomatic, and have tested negative then I wouldn't agree.

They are, wife’s a pharmacist and her tech was coughing all day right next to her. Tested positive and since the wife was wearing a mask she’s back at work. It’s goofy but if they went all NFL on healthcare workers everybody would be home.

The fact they can't test all the RBs tonight and get the results before kickoff tomorrow is beyond idiotic.

But the NFL insist on losing more and more eyeballs.
