Thank you. I heard that the contract has been negotiated from what I would consider a reliable source about 10 minutes before I made the OP. I am as diehard a fan as anyone here and the last thing I'd do is make this up. With that being said, if this isn't announced by tomorrow I will accept my punishment and retire from posting. I would consider my source very strong, but not perfect. Unfortunately I can not go into anymore detail in that regard. I understand the skepticism, but for the sake of our beloved Saints: have faith.

I'm actually inclined to agree with this, and I wish I had worded my original post to include the possibility of a Monday announcement; however, I said the words and will live with the punishment. As long as the deal truly is done, I will gladly sacrifice myself for the good of the team

Thank you Jayson, I am going to edit the OP because the wording is poor. My source told me the deal has been negotiated, but that is all the information I have. I would say I trust my source with upwards of 95% certainty.

What is te source's connection to the team and your connection to the source?
Just know we have been down this road multiple times with the Brees contract and the bounty suspensions being reduced and whatnot.

I think every true Saints fan can agree on that, my friend. I'm going to trust my source, but I understand everyone being skeptical of an anonymous online poster with a "source." Hell, I would be too. All I can say is that I WOULD NOT have posted this unless I truly believed my source. All we can do now is wait and see.

I understand your feelings man, and I will accept it if it is untrue. I have said I will accept the ban. The last thing I would do is purposefully give false information to my fellow whodats. That being said, I trust my source and I expect the deal to be signed by Monday morning at the latest (taking into account the fact that Sunday would be a strange day to announce the deal).

Why I believe the OP is trolling:
1. It's an obvious alter. Went to OT & MSB for his first couple of posts so this troll post wouldn't look as troll transparent but it's obvious he posts like someone who has been here for a while.
2. Why create an alter if the info has 95% certainty/legitimacy? Perfect time to add e-cred to an already established ID. Many of us would hail you as a saint.
3. Retiring an alter when the info is proved untrue is no challenge. That's probably the plan anyway.
4. Easy to prank guys like me who are hoping & praying that this troll post turns out true. Probably has been waiting years to pull a prank and saw this as a prime opportunity on a slow saturday to try it out.
If this a prank, I hope the mods or Chicken find his IP adress, and bans him & his alter forever.

My source is an associate I trust 100% (vague, but unfortunately all I'm willing to give). The alleged information was heard from the mouth of a high-ranking Saints official. As I have said I would put my confidence level at about 95% and I am willing to stake my reputation and posting privileges on it. I am sure all of you will take this information with a grain of salt, but I am going to be optimistic.

These are valid points. I will address these in order. 1) I have been here awhile but have only recently made an account and began posting. I have read the board since '06 during the "Vince Young vs. Reggie) debates. 2)I do not have another account, I guess all you can do is take my word for it. I will admit the Op "deal is signed" was poorly worded. I am a huge Saints fan and I let the excitement of my information get the better of me, and my first thought was to share it with this board. 3)See 2. 4)I would never intentionally do that to the people of the board; I read this board every single day and I have the utmost respect for (almost) every poster. I throw the 95% disclaimer in there because unless I heard it myself from one of three people it is not 100%. In my heart I believe it is true, I apologize if I come off in any other way than genuine
