I agree. Giving up that much draft capital for one player basically never works. Not to mention he sat out all of last year, the baggage, and all of that. There would be excitement if we got him but it would have been very, very high risk.

I didnt want to say it til i knew for sure he wouldnt be our QB- but it reminds me of in Jerry Maguire, early in the film when one of Jerry’s clients (a football player) gets arrested and Jerry says “There’s no proof of anything except this guy is a sensational athlete !”… and you know he’s full of it.. just felt a little like we were selling our soul to me .

Idk about that, but I’m certainly happy that I don’t have to hate Ceedy now.

I dunno. We go back into QB limbo/wasteland. Payton fricked us hard by keeping the Taysom Hill project going and getting left at the altar by Brees.

Yes we have Winston but he was a lumbering target out there before blowing out his knee and will even be more awkward and slow post injury.

We could absolutely be staring at more seasons like the last.

Maybe im an idealist, but id almost rather that than riding w/a guy like Deshaun ESPECIALLY if it meant signing him to the most expensive contract in NFL history and a boatload of picks .
