Not necessarily. There are 6 non-1st round starters in the NFL right now (well, 5 because Russel Wilson was just benched). Prescott, Purdy, Hurts, Smith, Rattler; 2 of which were 5th or later (Rattler, Purdy). The odds were stacked against Rattler before he was even drafted, and now he is 0-10 as a starter. 1st round graded QBs get multiple chances to play/start. Not 5th rounders. I was not one that wanted Rattler to start. I wanted to start Shough to see what he had.
Rattler is a problem. He doesn't see the field and is inaccurate alot. An NFL QB should not miss that throw to Cooks. For every dime he throws to Johnson for a game tying potential catch, he throws behind wide open receivers.

I stated upfront… I don’t think Rattler is the MAIN problem with the team.
But….Let me “frame” it for you another way….
If Rattler has been so terrible… I mean he is 0-10 ….. why isn’t Shough’s biggest fan (Coach Moore) putting him on the field over Rattler ???
What has Moore seen of Shough in practice everyday that’s makes him prefer Rattler over Shough ??
It’s an Honest & Fair Question.
Maybe he’s seen inferior play by Shough compared to Rattler ??
Can we not take Shough’s inability to beat out Rattler (0-10 record mind you) as a Negative Connotation on Shough ???
Come on now … 2+2 = 4 , not 16

As a just told Cajun… I don’t think Rattler is the MAIN problem with the team.
But… if you choose to play Shough…
Saints can’t wait forever to play Shough… when you draft a 26 year old ROOKIE QB (turning 27 this season) that never accomplished anything in college… let me reiterate….
He never accomplishing anything even against the shitty competition he played against in college….
He needs to get on the field quickly BECAUSE he has SO MUCH to LEARN !!
I think we all agree the QB starting position can be improved greatly..
So……Get Shough on the field.
It’s no secret, I have no confidence whatsoever in Shough as a starting QUALITY QB …. but let’s put him out there and get it over with asap.
